Dot Com 2.0

We have all heard of Web 2.0, the year of Linux desktop, open social, open mobile, social networking, social bookmarking, blogging and so on. Every IT company's eyes are on these trends. Dot com 2.0 isn't making so much noise yet. Looking at some of new portals, I predict there is going to be an exponential increase in new portals this year. Here and there we come across websites that offer something unique. Many of these web portals are driven by techies who are capable of building websites and market it on their own. Number of people investing significantly in dot com business is quite low yet.

Two factors are critical for dot com 2.0's emergence.

• Stiff competition among payment gateway providers
